FTG go East to Ukrainian football - August 2010
 Full Time Group (FTG) have visited Kiev, capital city of the Ukraine, as part of their international football and sport strategy. The company organised the trip in support of an FTG project with Events Stewarding Training & Consultancy Group (ESTC Group) who specialise in event safety and security matters. Members of the delegation included Danny Stones, Managing Director of FTG, Eric Epple, International Sales and Marketing for FTG, and Eileen Williams, Managing Director of ESTC Group.
During the visit meetings were held with the Ukrainian Football Federation, FC Dynamo Kiev the 9 times national champions and most successful former Soviet Top League side, and with the Ukraine Local Organising Committee for UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) Euro 2012 Poland Ukraine.
The 14th European Championship will see 16 nations competing from qualification matches involving 51 nations. Matches will be shared between 8 stadiums, with 4 from both Poland and the Ukraine. They commence on Friday 8th June 2012 in Warsaw and culminate with the final in Kiev on Sunday 1st July 2012.
Eric Epple of FTG has a wealth of experience in sport and football in this area. He was formerly UEFA Head of Department for Eastern Europe and assisted the Eastern European Football Federations in stadium development, safety and security issues, marketing, sponsorship and TV rights.
Eric commented ‘Theses are very exciting but challenging times for Ukrainian football. During our visit discussions took place on stadia operations, safety and security issues, along with general organisational development ahead of the tournament and for the continued growth of Ukrainian football thereafter.’
Danny Stones continued ‘Having lived and worked in Central and Eastern Europe for 4 years it is a part of the world that I am very fond of. The unique opportunities present an ideal chance for us to work together with ESTC Group to blend our experience and programmes for the benefit of Euro 2012 and the football legacy beyond that in Ukraine, Poland and the surrounding countries.’
